How Great Thou Art

I would like to share this great song performed by Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill. A great and powerful performance and a great rendition of "How Great Thou Art". Hope you like it too.

According to Wikipedia: How Great Thou Art is a Christian hymn based on a Swedish poem written by Carl Gustav Boberg in Sweden in 1885.. It's been a favorite of most Christian singers and has been sung in different renditions. So far this is a new favorite for me.

Welcome Year 2014!

I totally forgot about my online life here at the Baul but not to worry, I've never really neglected you my dear Baul. To all my readers, if there were any. Belated Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year to all. A few more hours and it will be a whole new different year. Let's all grab the great things we can grab from the year 2013 and leave all our worst things to the past. Let us step forward with a brand new perspective and better outlook. Let us learn to surrender to God what this year will bring us all - I know, I've surrendered all to Him last year and He brought me and my family great blessings this year.

May all of you have a blessed and prosperous New Year. God bless you all.

Joey Ayala Sings an Edited Version of Lupang Hinirang

Whenever I hear our national anthem being sung by some of our famous artists in Manny Pacquiao's fight I always thought the original and not the sensationalized version is still better but when I heard Joey Ayala's version, I couldn't help but play it over and over again. The words actually made more sense and you can feel more love in the song - it made me proud to be a Filipino again (well, I am always proud but it made me more prouder).

I know for a fact that not all people will agree to what Mr. Joey has made but I do really think it is a great version - it also made me want to petition it to be the new version of our national anthem. I can't disagree with other Netizens when they felt that it is really a great rendition of our beloved national anthem. I just hope Joey won't get into trouble because of this.

Well, I guess the reason why the pronunciation of the words weren't right is because it was derived from the english version - dunno but I also thought the it wasn't pronounced right along time ago but since I am not in the position or don't have the skills to correct it, I just sing it as it is. Enough of my ranting, I know how you must feel right now after seeing the news about the relief efforts (if there was really an effort being done) of our government towards the victims of typhoon Yolanda - its progress (slow progress) and the vain efforts made by some politicians by attaching stickers of their names on the relief goods - hayst! - makes me forget I am a Christian. Well, just watch the movie clip and I know it's worth your time.

A Quick Pictorial with Noah

While I was tidying up things in the living room, I saw Ize's old pair of shades that looked like a goggles or pilot goggles so an idea came to me. I think it will look great on Noah and while he is wearing his Kuya Ize's old leather (not really) jacket. So after I gave him a bath, I let him wore his Kuya Ize's old jacket and the pair of shades. I took pictures using my Nikon D90 and the pictures are just below. I only posted the best ones.

By the way, to all my non-Filipino readers, kuya means older brother. I am just a hobbyist in photography but not on career level or professional so I am open to any suggestion if you have any. By the way I used an AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D lens. My model is Noah Caleb Libed Ablon, a 1 year old cute boy who is turning 2 on Nov 11.
